This is a simplified version of the Pulsar 2025 conference website. All the relevant info for registration, abstract submission, payment, hotel booking, transportation, scientific programme and social events will also be posted here, so that all participants, including those unable to access google websites, can get all the information. Programme
The conference will start in the morning of Monday 22 September and finish in the early afternoon of Friday 26. A social trip to the Sardinia Radio Telescope will be organised for the afternoon of Wednesday 24. The social dinner is also scheduled for the same dayat the I Ginepri restaurant near Quartucciu.
Practical info
Venue: The conference will be held at the Calaserena Resort, in Geremeas (CA), on the beautiful island of Sardinia (Italy). Full-board accommodation at a special rate (125 euro in double room for single usage, 78 euro per person in double room) is offered to conference participants booking within May 7. All information on prices and cancellation policies can be found in the booking form here (english / italian). Note that the hotel will grant bookings at the special rate until May 7. After that date, the number of rooms in the block booking will be limited: 100 rooms are granted till June 7, 80 are granted untill July 7 and 60 untill July 31. The rooms. however, are fully refundable until August 14. We warmly recommend, therefore, that you make your reservation at the earliest.
Childcare: A Mini Club for children 3 to 12 years old, as well as babysitting service for infants younger than 3, will be organised during the conference hours. Childcare expenses will be covered through the INAF Gender Equality Plan for up to 15 children and two infants. Please, indicate your childcare needs in the registration form.
How to get there:To get to Sardinia, the best way is to fly to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and then take a separate ticket to Cagliari (CAG) with Aeroitalia. Since Aeroitalia (and most other airlines flying to Cagliari) does not operate flights in code sharing with other international airlines, you will have to get your luggages in Rome and do the check-in to Cagliari separately. Therefore, it is advisable that you allow ample time in Rome between the two flights. Alternatively, you can fly to Milan Malpensa (MXP) and get a low-cost flight to Cagliari (either with Ryanair, Easyjet or Neos). There are a few flights to Cagliari operated by Lufthansa, Vueling and Austrian airlines, so you may find some direct connection with your international flights through Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna or Barcellona, but they don't run every day.
We are planning to organise transportation to get to the hotel from the Cagliari airport for the 21st and the 26th (and/or 27th). Please fill this form by September 1st to allow us to organise transportation at the best. We will post information on how to arrive on your own, if the conference busses timetable won't work for you. Limited public transportation is available and the hotel also provides a pick-up option. Code of conduct
The organisers are committed to making this meeting productive and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, nationality or religion. We will not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Please follow these guidelines:
Behave professionally. Harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary comments or jokes are not appropriate. Harassment includes sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, sexual attention or innuendo, deliberate intimidation, stalking, and photography or recording of an individual without consent. It also includes offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race or religion.
All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate.
Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other attendees.
Participants asked to stop any inappropriate behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave the event at the sole discretion of the organisers without a refund of any charge.
Any participant who wishes to report a violation of this policy is asked to speak, in confidence, to Marta Burgay or Delphine Perrodin.
This code of conduct is based on the "London Code of Conduct", as originally designed for the conference "Accurate Astrophysics. Correct Cosmology", held in London in July 2015. The London Code of Conduct was adapted with permission by Andrew Pontzen and Hiranya Peiris from a document by Software Carpentry, which itself derives from original Creative Commons documents by PyCon and Geek Feminism. It is released under a CC-Zero licence for reuse.
