Venue and Logistics

The workshop will be held in the Sala Cimino of the INAF headquarters in Monte Mario, Viale del Parco Melllini 84.

To reach INAF headquarters the quicker way is to get a taxi. Otherwise

From the airport "L. da Vinci", Fiumicino, take the Leonardo Express train from the Air Terminal to the Railway Station Roma Termini; these trains run at regular intervals of 30 minutes (15, in the peak hours) and the tickets cost 14 Euro one way. See "From Roma Terimi" below for the indications to reach INAF Monte Mario from Termini train station..

From the airport "Ciampino" you can:

  • take a bus (ATRAL, COTRAL or Schiaffini) to Anagnina bus and metro terminal (approx. 20 minutes), then the metro A to Lepanto, in the direction Ottaviano.
  • take a bus to Roma Termini railway station (there are several bus companies running that line: ATRAL, Sit Bus, Terravision, Schiaffin);
  • take an ATRAL bus to Ciampino Train station, then a train to Roma Termini.

From Roma Termini railway (and metro) station: at the Roma Termini railway station follow the sign "Metro A Line" (Linea A); take the train to Lepanto, in the direction Ottaviano. It takes about 6 minutes to reach Lepanto from Termini. You may get a Metro ticket from a vending machine or from the ticket office. From the Lepanto station, take the ATAC city bus 913 and get out at Piazzale delle Medaglie d'Oro bus stop. Bus 913 has also a stop near Ottaviano metro station. The Monte Mario Observatory is reachable with a 10 minutes walk (uphill) starting from the Piazzale delle Medaglie d'Oro (follow indications to " caffè Zodiaco"). Alternatively, get out metro line A at station Cipro, where you can catch a taxi.
